London knows all too well that the Cubans bring a lot of energy to their dancing (Carlos Acosta is always around to remind us of that). So when a whole group of contemporary dancers from the land of the Castros come all at once you into town you can expect explosion and fireworks. Top that with a live band playing with guitars, drums, trumpets and singers performing popular songs by Beyoncé, Ricky Martin, Prince and Shakira and you get Ballet Revolución.

Making their UK premier at the Peacock Theatre on April 25th, Ballet Revolución is an Havana-inspired show with 18 hot dancers throwing hip-hop steps into contemporary dance and jazz movements produced by acclaimed choreographers Aaron Cash and Roclan Gonzalez Chavez.

And if Ben Elton’s opinion as advertised on the theater’s website is enough to make you go, you will become a regular: ”Witty, passionate, sexy, jaw dropping. If you see one dance show in your life, see this. Then see it again and again”, says the playwright.

Four exceptional young Seville-based flamenco artists bring to London Adentros or From Within – a journey of haunting song, explosive dance and exquisite guitar.

Paso Pa’lante seek to represent a new generation of cross-culture flamenco artists who are at the forefront of breaking the prejudices against foreign flamenco artists that still exist in Spain today. They seek to explore the the influences on flamenco from Moorish, Jewish and Gypsy cultures. Paso Pa’lante demonstrates that flamenco is an all-inclusive language powerful enough to bridge the divides of cultures and reach people of all backgrounds. The company’s work deals with universal themes of love, death, poverty and celebration.
