Brixton goes for a Brazilian

South London is getting another Brazilian night next week, but judging by their choice of discounted drinks for the night (Mojitos at £5 a pop) Jungle hopes they get the rest right!

While anyone watching Michael Palin’s BBC travels know that the country’s drink is the ubiquitous caipirinha, the new club night at least promises a night featuring “Brazilian beats and tropical treats” at one of Brixton’s hottest nightspots, the Electric Social.

One of the DJs performing on the night is south London’s Baba Chaghaloo. “This is going to be a Brazilian night with a difference,”says him “Although it’s freezing cold outside right now, we’re going to be turning up the heat at one of Brixton’s coolest venues. The night will be a fusion of Latin rhythms with a cheeky, urban Brixton twist.”

They also promise “an exciting mix of new djing talent, spinning a blend of old and new Brazilian tunes – everything from bossa and samba, through to hip hop, baile funk, house and drum & bass.”
