A tasty carioca fit for Her Majesty
Is quite rare that we the pleb can have a taste of royal life. Thanks to an independent chocolatiére in Rio de Janeiro, one now can. Literally: chosen by the British Red Cross as a special gift for Queen Elizabeth II, Brazilian chocolate brand Q has now given visitors a very fancy option of memento to bring back home.
Not only it is because it is quite a rare treat in terms of taste – it is made from beans hand-picked from a single annual harvest from Ilhéus, in northeastern Brasil – but also thanks to the fact its curvy silhouette has been conceived by no one less than the legendary architect Oscar Niemeyer.
A creation of Samantha Aquim, who hails from one of Brazil’s finest gastronomic clans, Q has a graduated tasting of six blends. It’s only available at he family’s Ipanema boutique store.
