Live Re-score of Black Orpheus

On the opening night of the Vision Sound Music festival, Charlie Dark will be creating a new soundtrack to Marcel Camus’ film Black Orpheus.

Black Orpheus originally featured groundbreaking music from Luiz Bonfá, Antônio Carlos Jobim and João Gilberto, and Charlie Dark will be adding to this with his group, which features Adriano Adewale, Tanya Auclair and youth samba band Bigga Bloco.

The show will be followed by Fallon’s after-party, with Gilles Peterson, visuals and a heap of surprises.

Black Orpheus is based on the Greek legend of Orpheus and Eurydice, set in a Rio de Janeiro favela during the Carnaval, and featured original music by Luiz Bonfá, Antônio Carlos Jobim and João Gilberto.
