The electro-Tango of Gotan Project

Ever since their arrival with the album La Revancha del Tango, many paths have unfolded for the Franco-Argentinian band. Their tours were long-running, they participated in Hollywood soundtracks and even varied in the styles of music they took influence from. Beyond their own trademark style, being a mixture of Tango and electronic, the band flirted with jazz in Lunático, and now, with Tango 3.0, there’s a tangible touch of rockabilly and a folkloric edge. On the other hand, the visual and cinematic sound of theirs continues strong, and it’s worth bearing this aspect of their next live performance in mind when you listen to the CD. Cristina Villalongo continues to feature with special collaborations, her voice contributing to this dreamy atmosphere. It’s no wonder Gilles Peterson declared himself an unconditional fan of the band.
