Sergio Mendes brings his fiesta to the O2

One of Brazilian music’s great names and Academy award nominee for his song for the Rio animation movie, Sergio Mendes is back to London this month when his vibrant sounds and sights of Brazil to London as his Brazilian Festa hits London’s indigO2 on Saturday 14th July.

The well respected  and well connected Brazilian musician with a huge back catalogue of hits including the world famous ubiquitous track ‘Mas Que Nada’ which he re-released last year as part of a collaboration with Black Eyed Peas

Sergio was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song in 2012 as co-writer of the song ‘Real in Rio’ from the animated film Rio but was beaten on the night by a song by the Muppets (read it all here)

His 2006 album, ‘Timeless’ featured an array of guest artists including Black Eyed Peas, Erykah Badu, Black Thought, Jill Scott, Chali 2na of Jurassic 5, India Arie, John Legend, Justin Timberlake, Q Tip, Stevie Wonder and Pharoahe Monch.
