Criolo and Mulatu play live at Koko

It worked well once, so why not do it again? After the interesting sounds created by Criolo and Mulatu, made possible by their performance together when they shared the bill at London’s Back2Black Festival (read Jungle‘s review here) last Summer, they are back for more.

(Congratulations to the lucky winner of Jungle’s promotion. Dylan Gross won two tickets to enjoy the show at Koko.)

Part of Criolo’s International Tour 2012 that will see the band visiting seven countries in 20 days, the London show promisses to take the partnership even further. When Criolo was around in the UK for the first time, he managed to take his band and spent some time together with Mulatu in a studio and even recorded a BBC Radio 6 programme (listen to the special show here). The improved result will be shown live at Koko, next week, part of the London Jazz Festival.

Born in São Paulo, Brazil’s hip hop capital, Criolo is a hard-hitting MC who has had massive success back home. Following the release of his album on Sterns in June, his name is buzzing over around Europe as well and he has dates booked all through November and December, playing in countries like Holland, Germany and Portugal. If there’s a show you should not miss this end of the year, this is it!
