Celso Machado @ London Classical Guitar Festival
|
Brazilian-born guitarist/singer/percussionist Celso Machado makes a long-awaited return to the UK stage to delight audiences with his mixture of infectious vocals, irresistible rhythm, and inspired lunacy. Hailed as ‘the most important Brazilian guitarist of the new generation,’ his performances are unerringly thrilling, beautiful, and awe-inspiring. On September 16th Machado will be performing pieces by Gilberto Gil and Dorival Caymmi as well as plenty of his own pieces, most interesting of which will be “Folguedo”, a composition for 8 guitars which will surely be one of the highlights of the show! Celso Machado’s performance is part of the London Classical Guitar Festival, an event taking place at Bolivar Hall from September 13th until 17th. He will also be playing as part of the closing gala party on Saturday 17th September, along with many of the other performers from the festival. More information on the festival can be found at ilams.org.uk/concerts.htm. _____________________ Fri 16th and Sat 17th September 2011, 7.30pm ilams.org.uk |
