Deborah Colker returns to the Barbican with Tatyana

One of the main contemporary Brazilian ballet companies, Companhia de Dança Deborah Colker, is coming to the Barbican at the end of this month. Between 31 January and 9 February, the famous Brazilian dance troupe will be presenting Tatyana, its latest production.

Jungle had a pair of tickets to give away for one of the nights at the Barbican and the lucky winner was Paula Viagi. Stay tuned for more competitions!

The show presents a semi-abstract alternative to Pushkin’s classic novel, Eugene Onegin, and its eclectic soundtrack features Rachmaninov, Tchaikovsky, Stravinsky and Prokofiev as well as contemporary music.

The Olivier award-winner Deborah Colker, the first female director to work with Cirque du Soleil, is a regular visitor to the Barbican and after performances at the 2012 Edinburgh International Festival, she is now bringing her new production to London.

If you are a fan of contemporary and classical dance, you can’t miss Tatyana and its revolutionary Brazilian approach that combines storytelling, ballet and an inventive set, straight from the heart of Rio de Janeiro.
