Bottletop of the Pops
The fresh and vibrant charity which raises money for causes in Brazil improvises with yet another musical initiative promoting the creative link with Britain.
Combining the worlds of music, fashion and art Bottletop is an innovative UK charity that raises money to alleviate poverty and support grassroots education projects in the UK, Africa and Brazil.
Established in 2002, Bottletop reaches over 30,000 young people each year through its funding of initiatives in Brazil, Malawi, Rwanda and the UK, addressing key issues such as sexual and reproductive health, substance abuse and gender equality.
Bottletop also designs and produces ethically sourced and environmentally friendly fashion products, generating employment in Salvador, Brazil, where they produce products which are then retailed across Europe. Well-known fans of Bottletop accessories include Kate Moss, Paris Hilton, Annie Lennox and Rachel Weisz.
Following on from their prior endeavours on the musical side, launching the albums Sound Affects: Brazil and Sound Affects: Africa, their latest musical project – The Bottletop Band – is a cross-cultural collaboration between leading Brazilian and British musicians, supported by clothing company and longtime Bottletop collaborators, Fenchurch.
Their forthcoming album Dream Service will aim to raise awareness and funds and will feature contributions from members of British indie bands including the Arctic Monkeys, the Libertines, Super Furry Animals, the Charlatans, Babyshambles and many more.
So if you’re looking for ethical gifts that not only look good or sound good, but which help make a difference to people’s lives, check out Botteltop’s range of fashion accessories and musical compilations on their website.
